April 19, 2011, Hamilton County, Ind. - A head-on car accident that occurred in the northern region of Hamilton County left a woman from Wabash clinging to her life, according to a report at IndyStar.com.
Catrina M. Payne, age 41, was on Ind. 37 traveling north shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13. It's unknown why her '99 Mitsubishi Spyder veered across the center line and collided with a Mazda truck head-on. The Mazda was driven by 26-year-old Curtis Head, of Gaston.
Payne was flown to Indianapolis for treatment at Methodist Hospital, and Head was transported to St. Vincent Hospital, said Vicky Dunbar, a sheriff's deputy in Hamilton County.
Representatives at St. Vincent did not return the newspaper's phone calls seeking updates on Head's condition.
The car crash in Hamilton remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Crash Team.
