Two-Car Crash in Indianapolis Injures Man at Bus Stop

May 4, 2011 - Indianapolis, Indiana - Three people suffered personal injuries last week when a 2-car crash in Indianapolis propelled one of those cars into a nearby bus stop. According to a report at the Indianapolis Star, the accident occurred around 9 p.m. last Tuesday evening.

Police say the accident injured 3 people, including a pedestrian who was waiting for an IndyGo bus on the Eastside of the city. A Ford SUV was driving on Emerson Street when it rear-ended a Chevrolet sedan near the intersection with Washington Street. It was not immediately clear if the Chevrolet was stopped at the time of the crash, but the force from the collision propelled it into an IndyGo bus stop where several people were waiting for a bus.

Both drivers were injured in the crash, although the driver who caused this accident was not seriously hurt. A pedestrian sitting at the bus stop suffered multiple injuries, including a broken leg, when he was hit by the out-of-control Chevrolet. The pedestrian and both drivers were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Their identities have not yet been released. All of the victims are expected to survive.
