Teen Boy Injured in Indianapolis Pedestrian Accident on City’s East Side

May 26, 2011 - Indianapolis, Ind. - A teenage boy suffered personal injuries on Wednesday when he was hit by a car on the Eastside of Indianapolis. According to a report at the Indianapolis Star, police are still searching for the driver who hit the boy in the Indianapolis pedestrian accident.

Police say the victim, a 15-year-old boy from Indianapolis, had just rescued a stray dog on the Eastside and was walking home when he was hit by a car on East 34^th Street.

The driver hit the victim from behind and then fled the scene. The victim suffered potentially serious head injuries in the crash and was found wandering near the accident scene. He told police that he could not remember the crash, which was so forceful that it knocked him out of his shoes.

The victim was bleeding from a head injury and was transported by ambulance to Community East Hospital. He is currently in good condition, and authorities believe he will survive. The stray dog was also injured, but he was taken in by a Good Samaritan.

Indianapolis police have no information on the driver who caused this crash, and it appears that there were few witnesses who could identify the make and model of the vehicle involved.
