Multivehicle Accident Kills Construction Worker in Indianapolis

October 12, 2011 - Indianapolis, Ind. - In a report from WSBT, a multivehicle accident killed a construction worker. The tragic car accident happened at about 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, at 30^th Street and Franklin Road.

According to police, an unnamed driver was speeding through a construction zone when he struck a propane tank and then a construction worker, Juan Hernandez Rosas, 43, of Indianapolis, who was signaling traffic away from a barrier that was being built on Interstate 465. He died at the scene of the accident.

The driver continued to head east in the westbound lanes, hitting at least 5 other cars before his vehicle eventually rolled over. Bystanders helped to pull the male driver and female passenger out of the car.

The driver and his passenger were transported to a local hospital, with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries. There were several others who sustained non life-threatening injuries.

The multivehicle accident is still under investigation.
