March 28, 2011 - Indianapolis, IN - After a March 17th Indianapolis head-on crash in the city's Northeastside, a man allegedly told police officers that he had been drinking that morning, IndyStar.com has reported.
That man, 31-year-old Jamal Moore, of Indianapolis, crashed into the other vehicle around 6 a.m., leaving one person critically injured, according to published reports in The Indianapolis Star.
Moore was behind the wheel of a Cadillac SUV, traveling northbound on Allisonville Road when he swerved over into the south lane and hit a Ford SUV near 52nd Street, said Kendale Adams, an officer with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police.
Although Moore did not sustain serious injuries, a passenger in his SUV, 34-year-old Joseph Reese, also from Indianapolis, was listed in critical condition. He was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital.
The Ford's driver, 27-year-old Darcie Jones, was transported to Methodist Hospital. Jones' injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Officer Adams said Moore stated that he had been drinking alcohol earlier that morning.
Moore has been charged with a felony, operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury. He was in custody at a detention facility in Wishard.
