Indianapolis “Psychologist” Faces Charges of Forgery

According to a news report from TheIndyChannel.com, a man claiming to be an Indianapolis psychologist has been faking his license since 2008. David Mowry, a 56-year-old from Seymour, forged his college transcripts and faked his college degrees to obtain a social worker license and a license to practice psychology.
A police investigation of Mowry started 10 months ago with a tip of Medicaid fraud. Although investigators were not able to substantiate allegations of Medicaid fraud in Mowry's business, his educational background was unclear. It was found that Mowry forged his transcripts from Asbury College, Sonata University and Columbia College. Mowry has treated 150 people who came to him in need of counseling.
He also has an extensive criminal background of forgery, thefts and impersonating a police officer. He was arrested and charged with forgery and perjury on the afternoon of Thursday, June 2, after he turned himself in to the Indiana State Police.
