Indianapolis Police Search for Vehicle in Deadly Hit and Run Accident

May 9, 2011 - Indianapolis, Ind. - Police in Indianapolis are on the hunt for a driver who hit two pedestrians late on Saturday night, killing one and seriously injuring the other. According to a report at WRTV Indianapolis, the fatal hit and run accident took place shortly before midnight on Saturday.

Police say the victims, a 33-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, were walking along West Morris Street in Indianapolis when they were hit by a red vehicle. Police have not said if they were attempting to cross the street or if they were walking along the road.

The driver of the red car fled the scene, leaving the two men severely injured. One of the victims, a 33-year-old man, was pronounced dead a short time after the accident at Wishard Hospital. The other victim is currently in critical condition at Methodist Hospital.

Indianapolis Police have not said if they have any witnesses to this accident, but they have disclosed that they are looking for a red vehicle, although the make and model are unknown at this time.

After hitting two adult men, the car would likely have visible damage. Anyone with information is asked to call the Indianapolis Police Department at 317-262-TIPS.
