Indianapolis Motorcycle Accident with SUV Kills Rider

July 29, 2011 - Indianapolis, Ind. - According to a report by the Indy Star, an Indianapolis motorcyclist died Tuesday night, July 26, after crashing into an SUV.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said that Bobby D. Hubbard, 48, of Indianapolis, was riding his 1992 Honda motorcycle, at around 11:15 p.m. in the 5200 block of East 21st Street, when he collided with Keyondra Coe's 1998 Dodge Durango.

Coe, 21, of Indianapolis, said that she was trying to find a friend's house when she realized that she had passed it. She stopped her SUV and put it in reverse to back up. She says that when she saw the motorcycle approaching she tried to put her car back in drive to get out of the way.

Hubbard's motorcycle was traveling at about 40 or 45 mph when it crashed into the SUV, causing an explosion. Neither Coe nor any of the 3 passengers also in the vehicle were injured, but Coe was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital to be administered a blood test for alcohol.
