2 People in Critical Condition After Motorcycle Crash in Indianapolis

June 10, 2011 - Indianapolis, Ind. - According to a report at Fox 59, a collision between a motorcycle and a bicycle seriously injured 2 people on Wednesday, around 5 p.m.

Indianapolis police still aren't sure what caused the crash, but initial reports indicate that the motorcyclist was traveling in the westbound lanes of 16^th Street when he crashed into a bicyclist who was traveling in the opposite direction.

Authorities haven't said who was at fault in the accident. Pictures from the scene show police tape surrounding the wreckage. A red Harley-type motorcycle is lying in the middle of the road, while the bicycle was thrown onto the sidewalk. Pieces of the bicycle and unidentified debris littered the road.

The motorcyclist has been identified as a 45-year-old man; his name hasn't been released. Authorities haven't released any information on the cyclist. The victims were transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital with serious injuries. Authorities say both victims are currently in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
