A new Indiana texting ban law will be put in place on July 1, 2011 to deter distracted driving; however, WIBC.com has reported that it may be harder for young adults to stop texting while driving.
A cell phone has become more than a tool to talk on. Texting and using the Internet have become popular resources on a cell phone that make it more convenient and faster for drivers to use. Although texting and searching the Web via cell phone may be useful, it is still a hazard when drivers use it on the road.
Starting July 1, 2011, if a driver is caught texting while driving, he/she will be fined $500.
Texting while driving is considered a type of negligence and can cause a serious Indiana car accident. If you or someone you love has been a victim of a serious Indiana car accident and sustains major injuries due to another driver's negligence, you may be eligible to file a personal injury claim to recover damages.
You should not be liable for the financial, physical and emotional burdens of your injuries due to someone else's negligence. Contact an Indianapolis car accident attorney to review your case and to help you pursue the compensation you deserve.
